ABOUT ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL​

                 The ED Cell of this college is professionally accomplished by a blend of faculty and students. The coordinators from different disciplines are entrusted with the responsibilities of conducting awareness programs, entrepreneurship-oriented events, and activities, thus disseminating information to the students in the college. The advisory board of ED Cell consists of faculty members, students, and well-established and experienced entrepreneurs from different areas whose ideas and expertise can be inspiring.

VISION

Our vision is to address the requirements of aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative ideas that hold significance at individual, societal, and national levels. We aspire to instill a culture of entrepreneurship within the college, thus enhancing the education system.

MISSION

Our mission is to establish and enhance eco-friendly infrastructure that encourages sustainable practices, stimulates innovation among students and faculty, and aligns with contemporary industrial and business norms. We aim to cultivate partnerships with governments, industries, financial institutions, NGOs, and esteemed higher educational and research institutions to generate employment opportunities.

OBJECTIVE

  • To create awareness among students about the various facets of entrepreneurship.
  • To highlight the important merits of being an entrepreneur.
  • To help prospective entrepreneurs enhance their organizational and managerial abilities to run enterprises efficiently and successfully.
  • To provide a platform for students to validate their entrepreneurial ideas and transition them from the classroom to the industrial and business environment.
  • To develop the advanced skills, creativity, and innovative thinking of the students.
  • To motivate students to become employment creators rather than employment seekers in the challenging and competitive job market.

FUNCTIONS OF THE ED CELL

  • To cultivate aspiring entrepreneurs among students who have a strong desire to become entrepreneurs.
  • To raise awareness about entrepreneurship and its importance among students.
  • To spark interest in entrepreneurship and encourage students by providing assistance and guidance to become successful entrepreneurs.
  • To serve as a networking hub for aspiring entrepreneurs, playing a role in team building through mentorship. Providing early-stage direction and necessary exposure is crucial in transforming technical ideas and projects into viable business plans.
  • To conduct various awareness programs, such as seminars, workshops, and interactions with successful entrepreneurs, aimed at making the student community more enthusiastic about developing their entrepreneurial skills.
  • To develop and maintain cordial and healthy relationships with all supporting institutions and organizations that promotes entrepreneurship development.
  • To engage with alumni of Meenakshi College of Engineering for the long-term growth of the ED Cell.
  • To interact with governmental agencies such as NSIC, MSME, and other entrepreneurship-oriented NGOs to obtain their input for the development of the cell.
  • To prepare students to be self-employed rather than seeking paid employment.
  • To encourage students to be job creators rather than job seekers.
  • To motivate students to contribute to national economic growth and social development by becoming successful entrepreneurs.
