About our Library

The College boasts a well-stocked library with a collection of over 32700 books, including Book Bank and Student Aided Fund books across various disciplines, aiding students in excelling in their fields of study. Library users have enriched their knowledge by accessing newly added books. Currently, the library subscribes to 72 magazines and journals, 1300 E-Journals along with 3 newspapers in both English and Tamil, covering diverse areas of interest for its readers.

The library offers an open rack system, a digital collection, and a spacious reading room, providing an ideal study environment. Knowledgeable and friendly staff is available to assist students in locating books and utilizing library resources, promoting regular and responsible library usage.

The library is furnished with a computerized Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) to facilitate searching for the availability of books and CD-ROMs. All transactions are conducted using a barcode system.

Regarding the ideal setting for focused study, the library offers ample space and is intentionally designed as a tranquil environment.The library’s hours, spanning from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., are tailored to suit the demanding schedules of students, making it effortless for them to incorporate library research into their daily routines.

Library Rules and Regulations

  • A person desirous of using the library shall enter his/her name, department and time of entry legibly and sign in the register kept at the entrance for the purpose.
  • Strict decorum and discipline must be maintained by the students inside the library.
  • Cell phones are banned strictly inside the library.
  • Books will be issued only on production of valid membership Identity Card.
  • The students should not mark, underline, write, or tear pages or otherwise damage the library documents.
  • The students are requested to handle all library property carefully to avoid damage to it and also not to disturb other readers/users.
  • Each book can be borrowed for 15 days and they must be returned on or before the due date stamped.
  • The students should check the fitness of the book before getting it issued.
  • Reference books, journals/periodicals, magazines/newspapers, and other documents declared “For Reference” by the Librarian will not be issued.
  • In case of manageable damage/mutilation of the document, the student will be liable to pay the amount as assessed by the College.

Functions of the Committee
  • Convener circulates the new books for circulation to assess the quality and collects feedback before placement of order.
  • Library committee acts on advisory and recommendation committee to consider policy matters and takes policy decisions for procurement of books and journals and renders advice to purchase committee for library procurements.
  • Committee analyses the feedback forms and works on the suggestion given.
  • Considering the reviews of faculty members and students regarding books/journals selection, ordering process etc.
  • Bringing changes in the physical arrangement and functioning process of library.
  • Development and proper maintenance of adequate and up-to-date collection of books, journals, periodicals, etc.,
  • Solving day to day problems of the library
  • Maintenance of books/ journals/ projects in good condition & its back up.
  • Library stocks are maintained.
  • Maintenance of register and records pertaining to library.
  • Binding of books and proper arrangement of books as per easy access.

  • Monitor the usage of internet facilities in the digital library and ensure sufficient bandwidth.

  • Periodically review subscriptions to journals and magazines.
  • Promote awareness and usage of online journal software for faculty and institutional publications.
  • Advocate for library and information literacy within the institution.
  • Ensure proper documentation services and maintain an up-to-date library collection.
  • Pursue modernization and enhancement of library and documentation services.
  • Gather feedback on library services from users.
