About the Department

In order to meet the wide ranging, challenging and very rapidly growing global demands at Information Technology, our College – Meenakshi College of Engineering has decided to provide students with a comprehensive education in cutting edge technologies, preparing them for successful careers in the rapidly evolving field of IT.It is a branch of engineering study that sparks imagination and interest for creativity and provides the right perception and insight into software development and computer application. Our branch opens up excellent scope and new avenues for adaptation and thus enables pursuit of specialization that engages the world. Well-equipped laboratories with systems and internet connection and well-structured laboratories are provided to the students to carry out the experiments.

Our faculty members are expert in their respective fields, bringing a wealth of experience and academic expertise to the classroom. They are dedicated in providing students with personalized attention and mentorship, helping them both academically and professionally. Our department consists of highly qualified team of teaching staff and non-teaching staff.

In addition to traditional classroom learning, our department offers a variety of hands-on learning opportunities through internships, workshops and webinars. These experiences allow students to apply their knowledge in real world settings and gain valuable practical skills.

Our ultimate goal is to prepare students for successful career in IT. We offer Career Counseling, Resume development workshops and Networking events to help students connect with potential employees and explore job opportunities in IT field.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

PEO1: Demonstrate technical competence with analytical and critical thinking to understand andmeet the diversified requirements of industry, academia and research.

PEO2: Exhibit technical leadership, team skills and entrepreneurship skills to provide businesssolutions to real world problems.

PO3: Work in multi-disciplinary industries with social and environmental responsibility, workethics and adaptability to address complex engineering and social problems.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POs)

PO1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2: Problem analysis: ApIdentify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6: The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering

PO8: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO9: Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

P10: Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
